Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA)- In protest of the imprisonment of his comrade Reza Khandan, civil Rights Activist Farhad Meysami has now been starving himself for 53 consecutive days.

CHRI – Despite his worsening condition, hunger-striking detainee Farhad Meysami refused to be transferred to a hospital outside Tehran’s Evin Prison unless he would be allowed to go without shackles, his mother told the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI). 

CHRI – Detained human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh has written a letter to her 12-year-old son, Nima, explaining why she and her husband—also detained in Iran’s Evin Prison—can’t be there for his first day of school.

CHRI – The families of environmentalists who have been detained for nearly eight months in Iran on unsubstantiated accusations of espionage have sent a letter to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei calling for the detainees to be released.

CHRI —On the occasion of the International Day of Sign Languages and International Week of the Deaf, the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) urges the Iranian government to officially recognize sign language and introduce legislation guaranteeing deaf and hard of hearing citizens access to professional sign language interpreters.
