The Workers’ Union of Tehran said that jailed unionist Davood Razavi was sent to Taleghani Hospital for an examination related to his digestive system. Meanwhile, Reyhaneh Ansarinejad was taken to see a rheumatologist.

Razavi, a member of the board of directors of the Bus Workers’ Union, was arrested by security forces in October 2022.

He was later sentenced to five years in prison and a two-year ban on internet and political activities on charges of “collusion against national security.”

The Tehran Court of Appeals upheld the verdict in August 2023.

Ansarinejad, also a labor activist, was arrested on the eve of International Workers’ Day in May 2023 along with other unionists.
