Iranian Film Collective in Germany Takes on Social Issues with Short Films

Iranwire – A group of Iranian artists and activists have come together in Germany to form a unique film collective called Perspective.

Their goal is not only to tell stories but also to inspire critical thinking and challenge societal norms through short films on social media.

Launched in September 2023, the group has already released four films tackling various social issues.

“Our films use an analytical and inquisitive approach to explore complex social, political, cultural, and economic issues,” Pooyan Mokari, a writer, journalist, and member of Perspective, said.

“We aim to move beyond simplistic narratives and encourage empathy and understanding among viewers,” he added.

“Perspective” films feature professional actors who dramatize social problems, followed by expert analysis and potential solutions.

“We aim to offer fresh perspectives on how to approach these challenges,” said Mokari.

The group emphasizes offering alternative viewpoints rather than dictating solutions.

“We want to present a different way of thinking and demonstrate the possibility of different approaches to complex issues,” Mokari added.

Perspective has already addressed topics like economic difficulties and navigating online relationships as parents.

Their next film, set for release next Monday, will explore the topic of executions.
