HRANA said that the agents attempted to take Behrouz Morovati with them but were unable to do so due to his physical disability.

The activist was therefore summoned to appear at the Intelligence Ministry on October 12.

Earlier this week, representatives of disabled people held a nationwide assembly to protest the non-implementation of Article 27 of the Law on the Protection of Persons with Disabilities.

This article requires the government to provide the equivalent of minimum annual wage to people with severe disabilities who lack income.

The government of Ebrahim Raisi has failed to allocate sufficient funds for this purpose in the budget bill, prompting protests by disabled people across the country.
