On Thursday 12 April 2018, MEP Gérard Deprez, vice chairman of the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly and member of the Special Committee on Terrorism condemned the violations of human rights against the dervishes by the Iranian government and demanded the Iranianian authorities to stop the persecutions of the Iranian people due to their religion and beliefs.
He further demanded to stop the planned execution of a Dervish Mohammad Salas and the release of Mr Noorali Tabandeh, the spiritual master of the Gonabadi Sufi Order who has been under house arrest for more than 50 days now.
