Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) – On Monday, September 24th, Azerbaijani activist and former political prisoner Abbas Lasani was notified by text message that he has been sentenced in absentia.

Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA)- Four days after the September 22nd armed attack on an Ahvaz military parade that left several civilians wounded, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has announced that it has 22 suspects in custody, backing its announcement with a video recording of blindfolded, unidentified detainees facing a wall.

Iran Human Rights –  The Revolutionary Court of Urmia city in Iran sentenced Mohiaddin Ebrahimi, a political prisoner, to death. Moreover, the Supreme Court accepted the death sentence of Arsalan Khodkam, another political prisoner at the same Urmia prison.

CHRI – For the first time in more than three years, imprisoned human rights activist Narges Mohammadi was granted furlough for three days to visit her severely ill father, according to her lawyer Mahmoud Behzadi.

CHRI – Women’s rights advocate Maryam Azad was arrested by security agents at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport on September 25, 2018, after boarding a plane scheduled to fly to Istanbul, a source close to the family informed the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI).

Iran-HRM – According to the The Razavi Khorasan judiciary, a man was publicly flogged in the city of Nishabur on September 26.  Charged with narcotics and robbery, he faced 74 lashes in the Zabarkhan district. The victim was identified as A.T, son of Ismael.

Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) – Mahmoud Beheshti Langroudi and Esmail Abdi, two teachers imprisoned at Evin, have demanded in a letter to Judicial authorities that their ward mate Farhad Meysami–who is now in the 54th day of his hunger strike–be transferred to an outside treatment facility to avert an impending health crisis.
