Mahsa, Maryam, and Meysam Basir Tavana, siblings of Mehran Basir Tavana, were arrested on Wednesday.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported the arrests.

The reason for their detention and their current whereabouts remain unknown.

Security forces took the siblings from their home to an undisclosed location.

This is not the first time the Basir Tavana family has faced harassment by authorities.

Meysam was summoned by the Public and Revolutionary Court of Fuman earlier this year, in January 2024.

Mahsa, a mother of two, has a history of detentions. Security forces arrested her in Fuman in August 2023, though she was later released on bail.

Additionally, she was briefly detained and interrogated by the Ministry of Intelligence in Rasht in November 2022.
