27-Year-Old Executed in Iran, Denied Family Visit

Iranwire – Alireza Marzban, a 27-year-old resident of Shiraz, was reportedly executed on April 7 at Shiraz Central Prison in Iran. 

Marzban had been sentenced to death for murder after he was arrested three years ago following an altercation.

According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Marzban’s execution was carried out clandestinely, denying him a final visit with his family.

Iranian government media has not acknowledged the execution till this report’s publication.

According to the Iran Human Rights Organization’s report, the Islamic Republic executed approximately 834 individuals last year.
