Iranian Forces Raid and Detain Translator for ‘Association with Israel’

According to a report by Kurdpa news agency, around 20 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence agents searched his home and seized some belongings on April 7. 

Ghanbari is known for translating “The Kurds in a Volatile Middle East,” a book published in Sweden after being denied a license in Iran. He is accused of “association with Israel” due to his communication with the book’s author, Ofra Bengio.

Following a day of questioning, Ghanbari was released after signing a written pledge.
