Iranwire – An Iranian women’s rights and social activist is facing imminent deportation from Sweden back to Iran, amid concerns for her safety.
The Swedish Migration Agency is moving forward with Asma Baluch’s deportation, according to a report from the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on March 5.
Baluch, 34, has played a significant role in documenting various crimes committed by the Islamic Republic’s security institutions.
The reasons behind Baluch’s imminent deportation remain unclear.
According to Hengaw, she and her family have received threats of assassination from individuals linked to Iranian security agencies during their time in Sweden.
