Three Relatives of Slain Teenager Arrested

Iranwire – Islamic Republic forces arrested on Friday at least three family members of Abolfazl Adinezadeh, a teenage boy who was killed in October 2022 during a crackdown on one of Iran’s nationwide protests.

A video has emerged featuring Abolfazl's mother crying at her son's gravesite and speaking about the arrest of her daughter Marzieh

According to reports circulating on social networks, Ali Adinezadeh, the father of Abolfazl, Marzieh, his sister, and Reza, his uncle, were arrested just a day before what would have been Abolfazl’s birthday, in Faruj city of Razavi Khorasan province.

Information shared on the Twitter page of activists 1500tasvir reveals that members of Abolfazl Adinezadeh’s family were subjected to physical assault prior to the arrests.

A video has emerged featuring Abolfazl’s mother crying at her son’s gravesite and speaking about the arrest of her daughter Marzieh.

Abolfazl Adinezadeh, a 16-year-old teenager, was struck by 24 pellet wounds on, October 8, 2022, outside Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. His family has said that he was rushed to hospital with grave injuries but succumbed to them only an hour later.

Iranian authorities have unleashed a brutal crackdown on anti-government demonstrations, which were sparked by the September death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of morality police.

Activists say more than 520 people have been killed and over 20,000 others have been detained in connection with the protests so far.

Following unlawful detentions and biased trials, the judiciary has handed down stiff sentences, including the death penalty, to protesters.
