On February 20, murder suspects were moved to the political prisoners’ ward of Qazvin’s Chubin prison, in northwestern Iran, where they threatened to kill Abolhasani, according to an informed source.

The source quoted one prisoner as telling Abolhasani that an “order to kill” him has been issued.

Abolhasani was previously incarcerated in Tehran’s Evin prison, but he was transferred to Chubin prison without prior notice on February 6 and was physically assaulted during the transfer.

In December 2021, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced him to 15 months in prison on the charge of “propaganda activity against the regime.”

He was moved to Evin prison on January 1, 2022, to serve his sentence.

Abolhasani has been arrested and sentenced multiple times in the past.
