This is a selection of pictures taken on a Friday inside and outside the compound of Zahedan’s Grand Makki Mosque, the largest Sunni mosque in the country. Its Friday prayer leader, Molavi Abdolhamid, has used his sermons to sharply criticize the fierce response of the country’s Shia clerical rulers to the protest movement.
