Sarvenaz Ahmadi and Kamyar Fakour were arrested after armed agents raided their home.

“This morning, my clients Kamyar Fakour and Sarvenaz Ahmadi were arrested in the presence of a large number of security agents, and their belongings were seized after the house was searched,” Mohammad Ali Kamfirouzi, the couple’s lawyer said.

Dozens of journalists have been jailed across Iran after the September 16 death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini triggered ongoing waves of nationwide protests.

Iranian security forces also detained Omid Hormozi, the producer of a popular football podcast.

No information was available about Hormozi’s whereabouts since his November 3 arrest at his workplace, the Etemad news website reported.

Authorities also arrested three citizen journalists accused of receiving “significant amounts of money” from two foreign organizations, local media reported on November 2.
