IOPHR strongly condemns the unjust execution of Ruhollah Zam

Shabtabnews – In a statement IOPHR strongly condemned the unjust execution of Ruhollah Zam . The statement declared: “Mr Zam was executed, after the Iranian Supreme Court rejected his appeal on the 8th December 2020, two days prior to the International Human Rights Day. All of which proves how dangerous the conditions in Iran are, and how much contempt the Iranian regime has towards human rights. As in Iran there is no independent Judiciary, and innocent lives have no value. For the Supreme Court, which is supposed to be the highest judicial authority in Iran, is unable to make its own rulings and is being forced to implement the orders of the regime.”

The statement also asked : ” all international bodies and governments like the European Parliament to stop any dealings with the Iranian regime, and only consider trade and diplomatic relations under the strict condition that the regime adheres to human rights and all the international declarations that it is a signatory to. As any dealing with the Iranian regime will simply prolong its existence, and hence enable it to continue the oppression of its citizens. This simple fact should now be clear to all international governments, as the Iranian regime is willing to run roughshod over any petition or appeal that requests to change its behaviour.”
