Iran Lawmaker Threatens To Hit Thousands Of US Targets If Trump Attacks

Radiofarda – An influential member of Iran’s parliament, Mojtaba Zonnour (Zolnour) has responded to President Donald Trump’s January 4 tweet threatening to hit 52 targets, issuing his own threat.

If America dares to hit 52 targets in Iran, the hardliner cleric has fired back, “We hit back with a number representing all verses in the Quran, and we will hit 124,000 Americans, in the name of 124,000 prophets.”

President Trump had tweeted, “”Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago).”

The Muslim holy book Quran has more than 6,000 verses. Therefore, Zonnour meant that the Islamic Republic would hit 6,000 U.S. targets.

A military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Maj. Gen. Hossein Dehqan (Dehghan) told CNN in Tehran that Iran’s retaliation for Qassem Soleimani’s killing by an American drone would be an attack against a U.S. “military site.”

This has been the most specific threat by a senior Iranian official against the United States after the January 3 targeted killing of Soleimani.

Zonnour who is the chairman of parliament’s powerful National Security and Foreign Policy Commission vowed, “American bases, from Bahrain to Yemen, are in the range of our missiles, and if America hits our cultural sites, we will target their bases and battleships,”.

Furthermore, he warned that if America dared to attack Iran, Tehran would sink a U.S. aircraft carrier with its nearly 7,000 crew in the region.

Meanwhile, the cleric, known for his headline-grabbing statements, did not miss the chance to threaten Israel, as well.

“In case of an attack against Iran, the Islamic Republic will finish-off Israel within half an hour,” Zonnour claimed.

Mojtaba Zonnour, 57, is an ultraconservative politician, representing the city of Qom (Iranian Shi’ite’s religious capital) in Majles (parliament).
