The Execution of Exile Sentence of Four Sufi Prisoners.

Shabtabnews – Four Sufi prisoners, at the end of their jail term, were transferred to the provinces  for the commencement of their exile  sentence.

Mehdi Mardani, Abolfazl Saharei, Mehrdad Rezaei and Mojtaba Shokri who were part of group of Sufis arrested last year, were  deported to Apu Soran, Sarbisheh, Sarbaz and Tyybad respectively.

According to the court ruling, the four Sufis must spend 2 years in exile in these cities .

Judicial order of the exiled for the Sufi prisoners detained in the last year incident of Golestan Seventh, was issued in accordance with Article 23 of the Penal Code.

Under Article 23 of the Islamic Penal Code, a judge may, at his own discretion, expel a convicted person to  six months of imprisonment and  up to two years of exile to places specified in the regulations of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior.

58 Gonabadi Sufis were sentenced to total of 116 years of exile during their trials by the Iranian Revolutionary Court, which lasted less than half an hour.

The Sufi prisoners who considered these judicial proceedings, due to their lack of observance of standards required for a fair trial, as form an inquisition by the Revolutionary Court refused to attend these trials and were convicted in their absence.
