Detained Baluchi Ethnic Rights Activist Subjected To Mock Execution

Abdollah Bozorgzadeh, a detained Baluchi ethnic rights activist, was recently subjected to mock execution to make a televised confession.

Abdollah Bozorgzadeh was taken out of the ward early in the morning and was told that he was to be hanged and should be ready for it that day, it emerged yesterday.
Abdollah Bozorgzadeh was arrested on June 17, 2018, during a rally to protest the mass rape of dozens of women in the Iranian city of Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchistan Province.
The authorities pressured and threatened his family to not speak publicly about their experiences.
On July 10, the IRGC publicized a video showing seven Baluchis identified as Bozorgzadeh, Yaser Shahnavazi, Parisa Shahnavazi, Abdolhakim Mazarzehi, Mohammad Amin, Morteza S., and Mohammad R. “confessing” to receiving money from abroad to spread propaganda.
Bozorgzadeh had been held in an IRGC detention center for nearly one month. He was taken to a general ward in Central Prison of Zahedan on Wednesday, August 29.
