Iran Executions: Two Prisoners Hanged at Gorgan Prison

Iran Human Rights –  Two prisoners were hanged at Gorgan Central Prison on Moharebeh charges.

According to a report by IRIB News Agency, on the morning of Saturday, May 12, two prisoners were executed at Gorgan Central Prison. The prisoners were sentenced to death on the charge of “Moharebeh and corruption on earth”.

According to this report, the defendants were convicted of 13 murders and 80 armed robberies. The investigation of their case started in February 2017.

Based on the Islamic law, Moharebeh (waging war against God) and corruption on earth are crimes that are punished by heavy sentences such as execution and amputation.
