Rajai Shahr Prison Is Being Prepared for an Amputation

HRANA News Agency – Mohammadreza Farahnak, a prisoner who has been kept on charge of theft in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj since 18 years ago, after all these years faces the risk of amputation. The prisoner was informed that the sentence would be executed on Tuesday.


According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammadreza Farahnak, a prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj was informed that his sentence would be executed on Tuesday.

A close source to the prisoner told HRANA’s reporter: “Prior to this, he had been taken for the amputation for several times but it was not executed every time.”

The source pointed out that Mr. Farahnak has been imprisoned on charge of theft since 18 years ago and explained: “His sentence was about 12 years in prison but he has not been released due to the amputation since six years ago and after all these years he faces the risk of amputation. The prisoner was informed that the amputation would be executed on Tuesday.”

The source asked in the end: “How can they keep a prisoner all these years and just want to execute this sentence? Why has the sentence not been implemented a long time ago?”

Mohammadreza Farahnak is held in ward 7 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
