India Advises Citizens Against Travel to Iran, Israel

Iranwire – India’s foreign ministry has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Iran and Israel until further notice, citing the “prevailing situation in the region” as the reason.

The ministry further advised its citizens currently in Iran and Israel to exercise “utmost precautions about their safety and restrict their movements to the minimum.”

This decision comes amidst heightened tensions following threats by Iran to retaliate for a suspected Israeli airstrike on its Syrian embassy earlier this month.

Earlier in the day, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged its citizens to avoid travel to Iran, Lebanon, Israel, and the Palestinian territories.

The French statement, posted on social media, announced that family members of diplomats in Iran will return to France, and government missions in all four regions are suspended.

German airline giant Lufthansa has also extended its suspension of Tehran flights until April 18.

The airline will also avoid Iranian airspace during this period, citing ongoing security concerns.

The April 1 strike, widely attributed to Israel, targeted Iran’s consulate building in Damascus, killing seven Revolutionary Guards, including two senior generals.

In response, Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning on Wednesday, declaring that Israel “must be punished and will be punished.”
