Ten Executions Carried Out In Two Iranian Prisons in One Day

Iranwire – Iranian authorities hanged 10 prisoners in Kerman and Shiraz prisons on October 1, activist groups say, amid a dramatic rise in executions by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary.

In a report published on October 3, Haalvsh news agency said that five prisoners convicted of drug-related crimes were executed in Kerman in the early hours of October 1.

Two of those executed were identified as Ewaz Moradi and Ramazan Khurshid.

Meanwhile, the Iran Human Rights Organization reported that five prisoners were executed in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison the same day.

One of them, named Hamidreza Khodabandeh Farsimdan Qashqaei, was charged with “corruption on Earth and waging war against God.”

The Islamic Republic is among the world’s top executioners. At least 523 individuals, including 13 women, have been executed in Iranian prisons since the start of the year, according to the Iran Human Rights Organization.
