Iranwire – A 40-year-old football coach in Tehran is on trial for sexually abusing nine teenage boys, local media reported.
The coach, who has not been named, is accused of luring the boys to his home and subjecting them to sexual abuse, Etemad newspaper reported on August 29.
The man has confessed using pressure to compel the teenagers to engage in sexual activity and filming the scenes.
The complaint against the coach was lodged almost a year ago, but he managed to evade the authorities for some time by hiding in northern Iran, where he was eventually arrested.
This is not the first time that a football coach in Iran has been accused of sexual abuse.
In 2022, a coach in the northeastern city of Mashhad was arrested for allegedly abusing 15 teenagers.
The coach has not yet been brought to trial.
