Trump And Pelosi Battle It Out Over Soleimani, Iran Issues

Radiofarda – President Trump intensified his attacks on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday, January 13, by retweeting a photoshopped image of the two.

The tweet was posted by an anonymous Iranian user presenting himself as D0wn_Under showing Pelosi fully covered in hijab, and a turbaned Schumer.

The retweet came in a series of presidential tweets blasting Speaker Pelosi’s criticism of the Trump administration’s handling of issues related to Iran.

Speaker Pelosi’s attacks on Trump have accelerated since the U.S. drone strike that killed the Qassem Soleimani, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ extraterritorial military unit, the Qods Force.

Meanwhile, several Iranian social media users have lambasted Pelosi for her recent comments on current anti-Islamic Republic protests in Iran.

Earlier, in an interview with ABC, Pelosi had described Iranian protesters as “several students”, while highlighting the state-run funeral held days ago for the Qods Force Chief Commander.

The president’s political opponents have lambasted him for ordering the drone strike against Soleimani, who has been linked to numerous deadly attacks on American forces and more. Meanwhile, they have largely remained silent as thousands of Iranians have poured into the streets to protest the Islamic Republic leaders in the wake of the IRGC shooting down a passenger plane, killing all 176 onboard.

It took three days for the Islamic Republic authorities to admit downing the Ukraine Airlines Boeing 737 by a missile.

Iranian social media users have interpreted Pelosi’s remarks as her support for the Islamic Republic and the leaders of the clergy-dominated Iran.

Under the #NancyPelosiFakeNews, furious Iranians have launched a campaign to dismiss Pelosi’s comments as a “lie” and “fake news.”

Posting a photoshopped image of Pelosi in full Islamic Hijab, and Schumer’s head covered by a “turban,” Down Under tweeted, “The corrupted Dems trying their best to come to the Ayatollah’s rescue.”

Retweeting Iranian posts by President Trump was unprecedented.

Meanwhile, he has posted several tweets in recent days in support of Iranians protesters angry with Islamic Republic’s leaders.
