Iran-EU trade up 171% in January

PayvandNews – The European Union’s trade with Iran amounted to 1.55 billion Euros in January 2017, a 171 percent rise compared to the first month of 2016, based on the latest figures released by the European Union’s statistics agency Eurostat.  The figure was 572 million Euros in January 2016, Tasnim news agency reported.

Iran’s exports to the EU stood at 772 million Euros in the said time, with 6.5-fold rise from 120 million Euros in the same period in the preceding year. The noticeable increase is due to the EU’s resumption of oil imports from Iran.

After the lifting of sanctions against the country in January 2016, Iran’s been trying to regain its traditional European clients.
