Heavy Rains Cause Flooding and Disruptions in Parts of Iran

Iranwire – Several cities in the Kerman, Isfahan, and Yazd provinces of Iran have experienced heavy rains, resulting in floods, waterlogging, and traffic disruptions.

In anticipation of continued heavy rain on Wednesday, schools in Zarand, Kerman province, will be closed.

Local authorities in Zarand have advised residents to avoid traveling to mountainous areas and avoid rivers due to the risk of flooding.

In central Yazd, although the crisis management department announced in-person classes for Wednesday, heavy rains have damaged old houses, blocked roads, and caused traffic delays in several cities.

The northern and northeastern parts of Isfahan province have been hit by torrential rain and hailstorms, leading to flash floods and water flow disruptions in several cities.

Urban and rural roads, as well as some residential houses, have also been affected by flooding.
