Iran-HRM – A relative of a Haft Tappeh Sugarcane mill worker and labor leader says he was tortured in custody and was now suffering from severe physical and psychological problems.

RFL/RE – Iranian activist Reza Khandan, the husband of imprisoned human-rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, has been released from custody in Iran, his lawyer said in a post on Facebook on December 23.

Al-Arabia – Amnesty International has published a 200-page comprehensive report on the massacre of political prisoners in Iran, 30 years after it actually took place. Its main focus is the dark days of 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran.

Iran-HRM – Jailed labor activist Ali Nejati has been informed of new charges against him. According to Farzaneh Zilabi, the lawyer of the former head of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Factory Labor Union, Ali Nejati was sentenced to “disrupting public order” and “spreading propaganda” against the Iranian government.

Radiofarda – Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has written to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet about Iran’s treatment of journalists, highlighting their frequent arrests and then denial of fair trial and proper medical attention.

Iran Human Rights (IHR) –  Hamid Ahmadi Maledeh, a prisoner who is sentenced to death for an alleged murder at the age of 17, is in danger of execution in the coming months, after having been on death row after 11 years in Rash Central Prison.
