25-Year-Old Baha’i Woman Missing for 20 Days After Arrest

Iranwire – According to reports received by IranWire, 20 days have passed since the arrest of Mahsa Sotoudeh, a 25-year-old Baha’i woman from Shiraz, and there is still no information about her condition, whereabouts, or possible charges. According to these reports, she has been denied contact with her family and has not had access to a lawyer during this time.

Three days after Mahsa Sotoudeh’s arrest, her sister, Mandana Sotoudeh, and Mandana’s husband, Behzad Basiri, were also detained by forces affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Informed sources told IranWire that violence was used during their arrests, and no information has been released about their status since then.

As a result, three members of the same family in Shiraz are being held under unknown conditions, raising serious concerns about their fate. Sources close to the family said they were detained solely because of their religious beliefs. There are also concerns that judicial cases may be filed against them in the absence of media coverage.
