Iran Security Chief Vows Not to Accept U.S. Demands Despite Threat of Confrontation

Iranwire – Iran’s top security official has said the country will not accept U.S. demands, even at the cost of full-scale confrontation, rejecting what he described as Western attempts to dominate the Islamic Republic.

Ali Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, told an audience in Tehran that “the key lies in changing the West’s approach to stop seeking domination, otherwise, American threats will have no effect on the will of the Iranian nation.”

“Iran will not turn back from its path of independence and dignity, even if it comes at the cost of complete confrontation,” said Larijani, who was appointed to the position following the 12-day war between Israel and Iran in June.

Larijani accused Western countries of attempting to “dominate Iran” and dismissed international concerns about Iran’s missile and nuclear programs as pretexts.

“The nuclear issue was nothing more than an excuse,” he said. “It is completely clear that the real goal of America and the West is to fight the Iranian nation.”

He added that Western powers are now seeking restrictions on Iran’s missile capabilities and regional influence following recent conflicts, calling such demands irrelevant.

Larijani also criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s “peace through strength” doctrine, saying Trump sought to “disrupt international rules and replace law with power.”

He warned that such an approach forces countries to either surrender or prepare for war, leading to “the spread of international chaos.”
