Iranwire – Iranian rapper Vafa Ahmadpour said on Monday that he has been summoned by the intelligence department while serving a sentence under electronic monitoring.
Ahmadpour, who performs under the stage name Vafadar, wrote on Instagram that authorities had contacted him, instructing him to report to the Intelligence Office.
He said he does not know the reason for the summons.
“Since my release, and even now while wearing an ankle tag, I have not engaged in any political activity,” he wrote.
Ahmadpour added that he plans to delete protest-related posts from his Instagram account within 12 hours, saying that his page may be permanently removed.
He was arrested in May 2024, along with rapper Danial Moghaddam, following the release of their music video “Amadebaash,” which addressed government repression in Iran.
