Iranwire – Iranian political prisoner Hossein Ronaghi has been given one week’s leave following a hunger strike in prison, according to his social media account.
Security officials transferred Ronaghi to a hospital to end his hunger strike and begin medical treatment to prevent his physical condition from deteriorating, according to a post on his official account on X.
The transfer came despite officials’ failure to fulfill their responsibilities, the post said.
Ronaghi had previously received a certificate from doctors stating he was “unable to tolerate imprisonment.”
Any incident involving him is the responsibility of the judiciary and security agencies, according to the post.
The leave should lead to his complete release, the post said.
Ronaghi, a political activist, was transferred to Qezelhesar Prison on August 3. He began a hunger strike on September 3.
Ronaghi has been repeatedly imprisoned for his political activities and criticism of Iranian authorities.
He has previously gone on hunger strikes to protest prison conditions and his detention.
