Iran Executes Woman Convicted of Killing Husband

Iranwire – Iran has executed a woman convicted of murdering her husband, along with two men in separate cases.

Jeyran Zaheri was executed at dawn on Monday in Isfahan Central Prison, the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported.

She had been arrested nine years ago on charges of killing her husband.

Mohammadreza Mohammadi-Berenjgani, 29, was also executed on Monday at the same prison. He had been arrested seven years earlier on murder charges.

A third prisoner, Aziz Ghorbanifar, 30, was executed on Sunday in Bam Central Prison in Kerman Province on drug-related charges, according to Hengaw.

International organizations have repeatedly raised concerns about executions in Iran.

Amnesty International reported last week that Iran carried out more than 1,000 executions in the first nine months of 2025.
