Iranwire – Tehran’s Revolutionary Court has sentenced two Christian converts to a combined 25 years and eight months in prison, along with additional penalties.

Mehran Shamlooei and Abbas Soori were convicted of “propaganda activities contrary to Sharia law” and “membership in opposition groups.”
Abbas Soori received a 15-year prison sentence. He also faces a travel ban and restrictions on where he can live.
Mehran Shamlooei was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison, along with 15 years of deprivation of social rights. Both men must also pay fines to the court.
They were arrested in November last year by Intelligence Ministry agents for establishing a house church in Tehran.
The two were held in Evin Prison’s Ward 209, where they faced daily interrogations before being released on bail.
