Iranwire – Idris Karsaz, a 55-year-old member of the Oshnavieh Charity Association in Iran, was transferred to Oshnavieh Prison to begin serving a 36-month sentence.
Karsaz was convicted in October by the Revolutionary Court of Oshnavieh on charges of “membership in and collaboration with a Kurdish opposition party.”
He was initially arrested on July 3 alongside four other Kurdish activists.
After 47 days in detention, Karsaz was temporarily released on bail.
