Iranwire – A cardiologist was fatally attacked outside his home on Monday night in what authorities are calling a revenge killing linked to delayed medical care.
Masoud Davoodi was killed around 11 p.m. near his residence in the Raja district of Yasuj, according to Vahid Mousavian, prosecutor for Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.
“Measures and instructions to identify and arrest the suspect were initiated by the special investigator the same night,” Mousavian told the reporters on Tuesday.
The suspect, who fled the scene after the attack, posted an image of the bloody knife on Instagram, threatening other doctors over delays in patient care.
The suspect claimed that his actions were driven by Davoodi’s alleged negligence in treatment, which led to the death of a patient.
