Iranwire – A Revolutionary Court in Tehran has sentenced Baha’i musician Behrad Azargan to 11 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of his personal belongings.
The verdict, delivered by Branch 15, cites multiple charges against Azargan.
He received five years for alleged educational activities against Islamic law, four years for membership in anti-Islamic Republican groups, and two years for purportedly spreading false information.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a two-year ban on Azargan’s social media use and international travel.
The ruling also mandates the confiscation of items seized during a July 3 raid on Azargan’s home, during which security forces took his phone and laptop.
Azargan’s legal troubles escalated on August 4 when he appeared at the Security Prosecutor’s Office to answer propaganda charges.
He was detained then but later released on bail from Evin Prison. His formal court hearing took place on October 6.
