Sadeghi, who also owns the Ayandeh News and Baztab Today news websites, was arrested on August 6 following his investigation into a high-profile corruption case.

His lawyer, Saleh Noghrekahr, said that his client’s arrest was due to “pursuing and investigating a corruption case involving certain individuals.”

This is not the first time Sadeghi has faced imprisonment for his work. In 2016, he was arrested and held in solitary confinement for 64 days before being released.
