Iran Threatens ‘Eternal Regret’ for Israel, Calls OIC Meeting

Iranwire – Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri, has issued a stark warning to Israel, saying that Tehran’s retaliation will inflict “eternal regret” on Israeli forces for their “ongoing aggression.”

In discussions with officials from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, Bagheri has called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

According to the Mehr News Agency, Bagheri described the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Iranian soil as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He urged all Islamic nations in the region to take action against this terrorist aggression.

Bagheri emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will steadfastly uphold its right to retaliate against Israel.

Haniyeh was killed in an overnight air strike in Tehran on Wednesday. He was in the country to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iranian officials have pointed towards Israel as being behind the attack, while the Netanyahu government has so far refrained from commenting on it.
