Iran Executes Over 200 in Five Months

Iranwire – In the last five months, at least 213 people have been executed in Iran, with three more executions reported on Friday, according to human rights groups.

The HRANA Human Rights Organization announced that Kurdish prisoner Reza Qobadi was executed in Shiraz Central Prison on Tuesday. 

Qobadi, a father of a young child, was reportedly sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

Iranian media also reported the executions of two other individuals.

A 28-year-old man named Nesser was executed in Tabriz Central Prison for “intentional murder.” 

Additionally, a 37-year-old woman named Razieh was executed in Mashhad Central Prison for the “intentional murder” of her children amid economic and social struggles.

According to the Iran Human Rights Organization, Iran was the world’s leading executioner of women in 2023. Razieh’s execution marks the eighth woman executed in Iran in 2024 alone.
