Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) – Four men were executed in Arak Central Prison after being sentenced to death for drug-related offences.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, four men were executed in Arak Central Prison on the morning of March 27. Sentenced to death on drug-related charges, they have been identified as 31-year-old Mohammad Najari from Arak, Hamid (Abolfazl) Goudarzinia, around 30 years old and from Arak, Feizollah Nourolahi from Kermanshah and Ahmad Nouri, a Karaj native.
An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Mohammad Najari had been behind bars for four years and was sentenced to death for carrying methamphetamines. He was a married father of one. Hamid Goudarzinia had been in prison for five year. Feizolah Nouri had also been behind bars for around four years.”
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, 25 people were executed on drug-related charges in 2020, which significantly increased to over 100 in 2021.
