Semi-Official Poll: Just 34 Percent of Iranians to Vote in Presidential Election

Iranwire – The Iranian Students Polling Agency (ISPA) has released the results of its latest survey on participation in the forthcoming presidential election.

The results suggest the number of people who plan to vote has diminished further since the candidates launched their campaigns.

In the eighth ISPA poll, the results of which were published on Wednesday, June 2, only 34.1 percent of respondents said they would definitely vote. In a previous poll last week, the figure had stood at 37.7 percent.

This week another 16.3 of respondents percent said they were still undecided, while 8.9 percent said they were “less likely” to participate.

In total, some 32.4 percent of people agreed with the statement: “I will not participate at all.”

The eighth presidential election poll involved 5,159 participants aged 18 and above, who took part in face-to-face interviews in city and village squares and streets.
