In this meeting which was attended by the representative from
International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights (IOPHR) ,
Dr Hamid Gharagozloo , the violations of the rights of various minority groups in Iran was discussed. Dr Gharagozloo in the meeting stressed that in Iran, the regime violates not only violates the rights of religious minorities, but it also violets the basic human rights of all its 80 million citizens. And the latest example of this is the way the dangers of Coronavirus  over the last few weeks has been dealt with in Iran by the Regime.

As over last the few weeks the Regime has in effect through covering up the true extent of the numbers of infected and failing to quarantine the most effected areas, like the city of Quom, has as a result infected large sections of the country. All of which in some ways, can be seen as a way to deter mass unrest and voicing of Iranian citizens’ displeasure for the Iranian regime, especially given the low turnout in the recent parliamentary elections.

In his speech to the committee Dr Gharagozloo also stressed the torrid conditions of political prisoners in Iran and the dangers they face with the spreading of Coronavirus  in Iranian prisons. As the virus in effect presents an effective way of eliminating all political prisoners on the pretext that died from the Coronavirus . Dr Gharagozloo also in his report to the committee, gave a complete report on the Iranian regimes cover up efforts in regard to the spread of Coronavirus and warned the committee of the overall dangers of such practices to the international community.
