Iranian Fighter Jet Crashes In Southern Province

RFL/RE – An Iranian fighter jet has gone down in the southern province of Bushehr near the Persian Gulf, with the two pilots surviving the crash, local media report.

“The fighter jet crashed due to technical issues on the coast of Tangestan,” the governor of Tangestan, Abdolhossein Rafiipour, was quoted as saying on August 4.

“Its pilot and copilot are safe,” he added.

Tangestan is a county in Iran’s Bushehr Province.

The purpose of the August 4 flight and the type of aircraft were not immediately clear.
