Radiozamaneh – An Iranian journalist who was arrested during the May Day pro-labor protest in Tehran more than two months ago was rushed to the hospital from women’s ward of Evin prison while seizing with internal gastrointestinal issues.

Marzieh Amiri was transferred to Taleghani Hospital from Evin Prison on 15 July, according to her sister Samira Amiri’s announcements on twitter. She has suffered from seizures and gastrointestinal issues.
The security authorities have her under custody while being treated and she is denied visits from her family and lawyer.
Marzie Amiri will stay in the hospital a few more days for further tests. She suffers from epilepsy, Samira Amiri wrote in a tweet on Thursday.
From the dozens arrested in May Day demonstration in Tehran this year, four women labor rights activists and journalists still remain in custody. Among them are Marzieh Amiri, a journalist with Shargh Daily, and labor activists Neda Naji, Anisha Asadollahi and Atefeh Rangriz.
The family has been allowed to speak to the treating physicians who have informed her that her condition in under control and right now not life-threatening.
It is not clear what has brought these symptoms while Marziyeh Amiri was under custody and the prison authorities have not commented on the incidents prior to hospitalization.
Human rights activists have raised alarm about the situation of Neda Naji and Atefeh Rangriz in Gharchak women’s prison. Both political prisoners were suspiciously beaten two weeks ago by prisoners accused of violent crimes.
