Radiofarda – Iran’s exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi says the current crisis in Iran is the result of Islamic Republic’s policies in the past four decades and its interventions in regional countries.
Reza Pahlavi, who is one of Iran’s top opposition leaders in a statement published on his Twitter account says the policy of interfering in the affairs of neighboring countries are aimed to export a revolution “which has failed inside Iran”.
He adds that Islamic Republic’s policies have led to the destruction of the country’s “natural resources, wholesale looting of national wealth, an empty treasury and more importantly, the forced migration of millions of Iranians, especially talented young people”.
Prince Pahlavi also condemns the Islamic Republic’s policy of “inventing enemies” and says, “enough is enough”.
Iranian officials, led by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei justify many of their highly controversial policies on constant threats they claim come from “enemies” headed by the United States and Israel and supported by other countries.
Referring to Iran’s proxy wars in other countries, Pahlavi argues that the policy has led to instability in the region and has put the country in danger of a “destructive war”.
Iran has had an extensive role in the Syrian civil war, supporting Bashar al-Assad, as well as supporting the Houthis in Yemen and arming thousands of paramilitary forces in Iraq.
Once again, Pahlavi has called for peaceful civil disobedience in Iran against “oppression and discrimination” by the ruling elite of the Islamic Republic.
