Bolton To Discuss Iran With Israeli Counterpart ‘Soon’

Radiofarda – U.S. President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser John Bolton says he is going to discuss Iran in a meeting with his Israeli counterpart soon.

Bolton wrote on his Twitter on Sunday that he was “Looking forward to meeting with Israeli National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat tomorrow. We have much to discuss, including our shared commitment to countering Iranian malign activity and other destabilizing actors in the Middle East and around the world.”

The Trump administration has started an extensive campaign against Tehran almost one year after the U.S. pulled out of the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, which was concluded under President Obama.

On April 8, the U.S. State Department designated Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization”.

Washington says the objective of the campaign is to change Tehran’s behavior and make the Islamic Republic of Iran a “normal” state.

Tehran says the U.S. pull-out from the nuclear agreement (JCPOA) is illegal and rules out Washington’s accusations about Tehran destabilizing the Middle East.

In the meantime, Israel has repeatedly attacked Iranian targets in Syria, stressing that it will not allow the Islamic Republic to expand its influence on Israel’s borders.S
