New Iranian Exile Group Calls For Regime Change

Radiofarda -A group of young Iranians in exile announced the formation of a political group committed to regime change in their homeland, September 17. The group, called Farashgard (Revival), presents itself as young and secular, and calls for democratic liberal democracy in Iran.

7.4 Million Iranian Children Deprived Of Education

Iran-HRM – On September 14, Iran’s Ruydad news website published a report in which it revealed damning statistics about the educational conditions of children inside Iran. According to this state-run website, Iranian regime officials are offering conflicting accounts of how many Iranian children have or don’t have access to basic education.

Activist issued prison sentence for visiting families of dead protestors

Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) – Vahid Bashiri, a civil rights activist and resident of the city of Hamadan in Iran’s west, was sentenced to one year of suspended imprisonment on a charge of “propaganda against the regime” for meeting with the families of protestors killed during widespread rallies in January in Iran.
