Prominent Iranian Lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh Faces New Charges

Iran-HRM – A prominent lawyer in Iran Nasrin Sotoudeh faced a new charge for her peaceful anti-death penalty activities with the “LEGAM” Campaign (Step by step for abolition of the death penalty).


Speaking to the state-run Iran Students News Agency (ISNA), her husband Reza Khandan said, the judiciary summoned Nasrin Sotoudeh to the second Branch of the Evin Court. “They told my wife that you had illegally established and joined the campaign.” Khandan added.

According to Reza Khandan, a group were working on the human rights campaign “LEGAM” to abolish the Death Penalty. (ISNA state-run News Agency – Jul. 17, 2018)
