The Appeal Court Condemned Three Political Prisoners To 28 Years Imprisonment

Iran-HRM – The sentences of three political prisoners whom have been held in absentia (absence) since January 2017, was announced to them on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. According to their verdicts, Majid Asadi was accused twice and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment, and Payam Shakiba and Mohammad Banazadeh were accused three times and each sentenced to 11 years imprisonment. Majid Asadi and Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi aside their imprisonments, were also sentenced to two years exile to Borazjan City, in Bushehr province and Nik Shahr City in Sistan and Baluchistan province.

Majid Asadi was arrested on February 18, 2017 at his home in Karaj by the Ministry of Intelligence forces and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. Payam Shakiba was arrested on February 21, 2018 by the intelligence forces and Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi was arrested by the security forces at his house on February 18, 2017.
