Iran: Teachers’ Rights Advocate Mohammad Habibi Still In Detention

Days after Habibi’s arrest on May 17, his wife, Khadijeh Pakzamir said that she had a five min visit with him explaining, “he had on the same clothes he was wearing the same day he was detained, but it was torn due to beating. He was not wearing shoes, his could barely walk and his feet were bruised.”
While referring to the submission of the case to the court, Pakzamir said that a bail has been set for Habibi, but judiciary officials have so far refused to release him.
Teachers’ rights advocate Mohammad Habibi had been battered and violently detained on March 3, 2018, in front of the school where he teaches. After enduring 44 days behind bars, he was released on bail on April 15, 2018.
